ProJoy PEFS‑EL50 Rapid Shutdown Box (1500Vdc)

The ProJoy PEFS‑EL50 is the first 1500Vdc string‑level rapid shutdown solution certified for the Canadian market. It is designed for commercial rooftop systems where inverters cannot be installed near the array, using a motorized DC disconnect that activates simply through loss of AC power. This allows easy integration with a building’s main DG disconnect or additional RSD switches and pushbuttons.

With a wide 100–277Vac input range and extremely low power consumption (0.1A), the unit can be powered directly from building AC or through a small 50VA control transformer. While ideal for 1500Vdc commercial systems, it is also fully compatible with 1000Vdc and 600Vdc arrays, offering a cost‑effective alternative to module‑level RSD devices for rooftop or building‑integrated PV wiring.

The PEFS‑EL50 can also be used in off‑grid applications provided stable AC is maintained; installers should verify system behavior to avoid shutdown‑related dead‑lock scenarios.
