Shipping
Free Shipping
The free shipping option only applies to shipments valued over $10,000 dollars net, after discounts, excluding tax, and has the following restrictions:
- The order is being shipped to an address within 250km of major a Canadian city (Calgary, Edmonton, Fredericton, Halifax, London, Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City, Regina, Sudbury, Toronto, Vancouver, Winnipeg).
- Free shipping will only be applied to one address per order, if shipping an order to multiple addresses, additional charges will apply.
- Free shipping does not include the cost of Flatbed Trucks or Ferries.
- Tailgate surcharge is not included, if required
- Free shipping only applies to standard shipping, if expedited shipping is required there may be an additional cost.
- Carrier and transportation for shipment will be chosen at Frankensolar's discretion
Tailgate Service
If being shipped to a residential address then tailgate service is generally required (unless there will be a forklift onsite). If tailgate service is required there will be a $75 surcharge, which you can pay for by adding this item to your cart. Tailgate service is not possible for pallets over 80in in length or heavier then 1,600lbs. Generally, solar panels 66 cell or greater can't be put on a tailgate.
Delivery Dates
When you place an order, we will estimate shipping and delivery dates for you based on the availability of your items and the shipping service you choose. Depending on the shipping provider you choose, shipping date estimates may appear on the shipping quotes page.
Large or Heavy Items or Dangerous Goods
If you purchase large or heavy items, e.g., solar panels, racking/rails or batteries, please select Custom Quote during checkout or Contact Us. Automated shipping calculators often can not produce cost effective shipping quotes for these items. Furthermore, dangerous goods (e.g., batteries) require special handling and some of our shipping providers will not ship them, therefore, we may need to change the shipping method you selected during checkout which may require an adjustment to the shipping cost. We will work to find the best shipping price for you and respond to you with a quote.
Shipping Rates
Please note that the shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based. The weight of any such item can be found on its dimensions page. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full pound.
Shipping Rate Discrepancies
Online real-time shipping calculators do their best to get you a quick and accurate quote but can be inaccurate. This is due to complexity of shipping multiple items together and how they need to be packaged. At times we may have to make adjustments to the shipping cost. Rather then just over charging for shipping we try our best to get you the lowest rates possible.
Processing Time
We will ship out your item(s) as soon as possible. Our normal processing time for orders is 24hrs or less for items that we have in stock.
Ferry Service
If a shipment requires ferry service, Frankensolar will only cover the cost to the port in continental Canada, any additional costs will be the responsibility of the customer.
Inspection
Shipments must be inspected before being accepted from the shipping company. Any damages must be noted on the receiving documents, and pictures of the damage must be taken. Frankensolar needs to be informed of any damages or missing equipment by the end of the next business day for the claim to be processed.
It is at Frankensolar’s discretion what carrier and transportation method will be chosen for shipment.
Returns Policy
You may return most new, unopened and undamaged items within 30 days of delivery for a refund. We'll pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.), otherwise return shipping is to be paid by the buyer. Frankensolar reserves the right to decline any returns or subject them to a handling/restocking charge of twenty per cent (20%) of the total purchase price. You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks from when we receive your return, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the time for us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
